Indigenous Awareness – Truth and Reconciliation

This training explores terminology differences, such as First Nation, Inuit, Metis, Indigenous and Aboriginal. It provides an overview of the Michi Saagiig peoples of the Kawartha Lakes region and associated Treaties. Participants will learn about the history and legacy of discrimination against Indigenous communities, including residential schools, and discuss relevant Federal, Provincial and Municipal jurisdictions.  This training can be delivered in-person, or in a self-paced online format.
